Phone B

At work, B takes a lot of calls... by the end of the day, she develops what she likes to call, an overwhelming urge to throw the phone out the window. By 4pm, her ears are ringing and Phone B ceases to exist. If you haven't had the pleasure of meeting Phone B, allow me to introduce you... she's B's bubbly, rainbows and sunshine alter ego. Her high pitched, perky voice comes alive as soon as telly meets hand. Phone B gets on B's last nerve, and unfortunately, she cannot control her. B goes from rolling her eyes to, "Hello! This is B! How can I help you?" in a matter of seconds. It's frightening. Her alter ego is one of those girls who places an excessive number of exclamation points at the end of every sentence she utters and types. She sits at her perfectly organized desk and takes notes with brightly colored Crayola markers. She is often seen sporting a teal flower in her strategically placed hair, pink nail polish, pearl earrings, a skirt and leggings.

For whatever reason, Phone B hears a multitude of life stories. Because she's perky, people feel compelled to share their feelings with her. Although she knows she was placed on earth to listen to and help others, she cannot help but get frustrated at slow talkers, people who do not understand basic concepts, and those who speak an alternate version of the English language. Fortunately, it's time to put Phone B to bed, pack up her things, and head to B's hair appointment. Phone B would approve... I guess they have something in common.

Invisible Children

"In the spring of 2003, three young filmmakers traveled to Africa in search of a story. What started out as a filmmaking adventure transformed into much more when these boys from Southern California discovered a tragedy that disgusted and inspired them, a tragedy where children are both the weapons and the victims.

After returning to the States, they created the documentary "Invisible Children: Rough Cut," a film that exposes the tragic realities of northern Uganda's night commuters and child soldiers.
The film was originally shown to friends and family, but has now been seen by millions of people. The overwhelming response has been, "How can I help?" To answer this question, the non-profit Invisible Children, Inc. was created, giving compassionate individuals an effective way to respond to the situation."
